Agresso Financials and EMS Hook Up

Later this month, two important College databases will start talking to each other. It might not seem like a big deal at first glance, but it's a huge step forward for integrating the College's business systems to find efficiencies, reduce costs - and improve service for students and staff.

"We've been using Agresso's financials module to track our billing information, and the Educations Management System (EMS) to track student data," explains Carlos Arenas, Manager of Finance and Systems Integration. "What we've done is implement a third module for invoicing to get those two systems talking to each other."

That connection means that the new system will give students up-to-date account, streamline the student invoicing process, integrate FLE and financial data and reduce errors in data.

"One of the challenges for us has been to work within both the Agresso structure and the culture here at Bow Valley College," Carlos says. Carlos and his working team have been training staff across the College on the new student invoicing system, getting ready for an implementation on March 29th.
